Municipality of Rohrendorf

The home of Lenz Moser.

Once pilgrims reach the municipality of Rohrendorf, the first feelings of happiness emerge for the path to Krems and the end of the Way of St. James isn't long any more.

The municipality of Rohrendorf is located some 4 km east of Krems an der Donau. The wine growing village is embedded in the Krems basin.

Wine growing

Wine growing pioneer Lenz Moser turned Rohrendorf into a veritable wine growing Mecca. Today, the wine growing estate delivers Austrian wines to countries all over the world. Many young and dynamic wine growers have also moved here.

Parish church

The parish church of Rohrendorf is dedicated to St. Colman, the Irish pilgrim suspected of being a spy and hung in Stockerau around the year 1000. His grave is located at Melk monastery. The altar painting in the church shows St. Colman in pilgrims' clothes.
